A tribute to 'La Grande Odalisque’ an oil painting by Jean Auguste Dominique Ingres from 1814.
In 'La Grande Odalisque', Ingres depicts the female body in an exaggerated, almost unbelievable way. The curves in her back are elongated and accentuated.
The painting was heavily criticised at the time as it showed a disregard of anatomical realism but later inspired many artists such as Picasso and the Surrealist period.
